This Saturday, various social, union, and political organizations are mobilizing in a massive LGTBIQ+ Federal March in response to the statements made by President Javier Milei at the Economic Forum in Davos. "This human tide is the response of all those harmed by this austerity government, misogynistic, discriminatory, and denialist," they stated in a press release.
The event has been backed by federal judge Alejo Ramos Padilla, linked to strange denunciations-operations against opponents and markedly Kirchnerist, who issued a preventive habeas corpus to guarantee the freedom of expression of the protesters, urging security forces not to intervene. Other political leaders such as former legislator Lucia Cámpara, deputy Paula Penacca, and senators Eduardo “Wado” de Pedro and Mariano Recalde, all supporters of the failed government of Alberto Fernández and Cristina Kirchner, are also present at the mobilization.
Leftist leader Manuela Castañera, who is also at the march, denounced that the government has stalled a bill proposing to eliminate the figure of femicide from the penal code. "It is essential that the authorities guarantee the constitutional right to social protest," emphasized the questioned magistrate.
During the march, the presence of the block of deputies from Unión por la Patria (UxP) and the support of Frente Grande, which has made a call under the slogan "The homeland is not for sale, pride is defended," was expected. The participation of deputies from the Left Front, such as Myriam Bregman, Nicolás del Caño, and Christian Castillo, also stood out, showcasing the left-wing fanaticism of this mobilization as a response to government policies.
The LGTBIQ+ community from different regions, including Mar del Plata and Rosario, has responded to the call en masse, using the symbol of the fan as an emblem of resistance against "fascism." "This Saturday, February 1st, from Congress to Plaza de Mayo and in all provinces of the country, we march with a clear and firm slogan: no to fascism, no to hate speech," stated the organization.
